"Through the years I gave numerous talks to groups about my life experiences. Many people, including General Lou Wilson, then Commandant of the Marine Corps, suggested that I put it all down in a book. Others said don't do it because there are some dark family secrets and other things that shouldn't be revealed. After my appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, I was inspired to go ahead and do the book. Time Remembered, Grief Forgotten is the result."
